I took my "old style" mats to a custom awning shop and had metal grommets installed to fit my 2011 GS. The new grommets were inserted where the anchors had been for the nylon straps. Cost me $2.00!

You can buy a grommet making kit pretty cheap at a hardware store.

I mean the car itself. It is possible to convert the floor of the car and add hooks? Sorry I reread my original post and it sounds like I'm talking about the mats themselves. Can I screw some hooks into the floorboard/carpet? How are the hooks attached to the floor?

Sure, rip out the carpets, should only cost you a thousand or more

Damn ok point taken. Well in that case I have two brand new lloyds z06 mats for sale. On used to see how they fit in my car. Who wants em!? They're ebony and hook style. How about $100 shipped? I paid $135 with shipping just two days ago

Just remove the old style buttons from your old mats and install them on your new ones after removing the hook style grommets.I did it on my 07.Worked out great.

If your floor has the posts then your old mats have the plastic ring that snaps onto that post. Remove the plastic rings from the old mats. Put the new mat over the old mat and make the same size hole. Now put the old plastic rings onto the new mat and now you have mats that fit your car. We all did this when we got our C-6s back in '04 and '05.

Hi, I came across this thread because I am also in a similar situation, replaced the carpet in my '05, and switching to hooks. Great help with the measurements for the drivers side!

Assuming passenger side the same distance forward as the drivers side? Is the lateral distance 8.5" from the door sill for 2005-2012? Thanks!
