Thanks to everyone for your help! Getting the battery out and a new one in was eaiser than I thought it would be.
I have a question about getting the fob to work though. When I connected the cables, the lights came on and the fob isn't working. Doors are locked and won't open. Do I need to use the key to manually open the doors and put the fob in the slot to get the car to recognize it again? Anyone else ever have this happen when connecting a new battery?

This is a different problem. Most of us, including me, only needed to re-index the windows after a battery swap. Even the presets on the radio stayed pre-set. Sorry I cannot help you, but for others reading this thread, fob failure is NOT part of a normal battery swap.
