Default 2008 remote visor programing

Is there a way to program this ( like my 05 did) to other remotes like my mild to wild NPP in a box remote?

I had to replace my sun visor on my 05 so I got a good deal on an 08 but the remote (Homelink) is different and the instructions for the 08 don't mention how to learn other remotes

Press the two outer buttons until the lights come on, continue holding buttons until they blink, could take 20-30 sec. visor now erased.

to program press the two outer buttons until lights come on then release, they are now ready to learn. But you only have about 30sec. before lights on visor go off.

to program garage opener, press two outer buttons until lights come on, press the garage door opener learn button, then press the one button you want to control that door.

What he said,

Make sure your visor is proged correct to start with. Otherwise it will not be able to learn from your opener.

Are you sure it's Homelink? My 2008 has CAR2U, which has totally different programming than the Homelinks. Do a search for CAR2U and you'll find some instruction threads.

Or you can try their website: http://learcar2u.com/

It's not home link, GM switched to Car2u in 06 or 07. If you don't have an carved/etching of a house above button 2 then its not homelink. The difference in the programming is that with car2u you press the outer buttons until lights come on then release, HL has you wait until they blink in order to learn.
