Default Smoky Mountain road trip w/pics

Just got home. Fantastic 1252 mile road trip all over the Smoky Mountains, Cherohala Skyway and the Dragon. This was my first road trip with the vette. We vacation alot but have a 15yr daughter and she very much likes to be part of our adventures. Daughter attended a class at Hanover College, so the wife and I hit the road. This was the first non-business trip we have taken in 15 years!!!
I don't think I need to say it but.... damn this is a great road car! 1252 miles, 22.6 mpg, 45.1 mph average. Comfort, power, looks, fun to drive. Mountains were no problem for the vettes torque. Tail of the Dragon was way fun! Not one car/bike in front of us for all 11 miles.... I couldn't believe it. Wife said she had her eyes closed and held on for dear life!
I feel very fortunate to enjoy a great trip with my wonderful wife of 32 years & business partner of 22 years. We spend an awful lot of time together but this was special, in a special car.
Cabin... Best part was the hose! Washed the car every day

Wife

The lucky guy!

Great pics! The wife and I have done the Blue Ridge Parkway a few times (for our honeymoon even), and it never gets old to drive through such beautiful scenery. We haven't taken the Vette up there yet, though. Hmmm... sounds like a good excuse for a road trip this summer!

In Gatlinburg TN it's about 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. We used Elk Springs Resort. The cabin was brand new and very nice but wasn't totally secluded. There was maybe 10 cabins there, couldn't hear anybody but could hear traffic from highway 321. I would wear a suit in the hot tub last year we stayed in the Nantahala Gorge, very, very secluded! I was driving my Avalanche and it was scary get to the cabin so we decided this time easy access was a must.
Google cabins and you'll pull up at least a thousand!
Hope you change your mind & take the vette, it is worth any trouble to experience the beauty in your vette.
Here is the view from the porch
