The factory used Mobil 1 5w-30 and that's what I plan on using as long as I have the C6.

What it says is Mobil and GM worked out a $ thing for the endorsement. Thats ok. I got it in mine. But I bet some don't. I was just curious to what oil some use.

I have never been presented with a good reason to use anything different. I do have a good reason to use what the manufacturer recommends.

pennzoil ultra for me. i am guessing as long as it is a decent synthetic you should be fine.

Mobil 1 5W-30. I can purchase a six pack at Sam's Club for around $35.00. If Amsoil was more readily available I'd consider it based on some of the test results.

Bugsas99 the Ultra is probably a bit more higher end oil then the Mobil 1. Penzoil Platiumn is more apples to apples with Mobil 1

did alittle research and thought pennzoil ultra was a better choice than mobil 1 . but i am willing to bet a good synthetic oil mobil 1, pennzoil, valvoline even castrol is not a bad choice. everyone is going to have a different opinion. and all will work.
