Tint levels
I am about to do window tint on my 07 coupe. Live in Chicago. What level are you folks using? Don't want it dark but some help with heat and fading. Was thinking about 35 or 50%. thanks

Tint restrictions vary from state to state so you may want to check on what the law allows before proceeding.
In Texas we are limited to no darker than 25% on the front driver and passenger windows with no limit on rear passenger doors (sedans, 4 door SUV's, Vans, and Crew Cab trucks) and back glass.
I have 30% on the sides and 15% on the back glass.

We have tinted all of our vehicles with 55% on the sides and 8% on the back side windows and back window.

According to the Texas State Trooper who stopped me mine is 8%
, so I assume it is 10% film. It is a little dark at night, if you want to back up close to a curb you have to roll down the window, but awesome during the summer. I've got 20% on my truck and it is just right, plenty dark but not so dark the police question it.
