Default Fob Locking sequence

Is there a way to set up the access control to allow the passanger to exit the 2011 GS after the driver exits, and walks out of range?

I had the alarm sound last weekend when my passanger pulled the seat lever after trying the door botton to exit the car. The door botton would not open the door. I had gone into the store with the fob in my pocket. I thought as long as the passanger was sitting in the right seat the car would not lock. Scared the passanger to death !!! Your thoughts please.

This is from my 2009 manual so will probably work. My wife gets p....d cause she can't open her door until after mine is opened.

"You may temporarily disable the passive door locking
feature by pressing the door unlock switch for
three seconds on an open door. Passive door locking
will then remain disabled until a door lock switch is
pressed or until the power mode transitions from the
off power mode."

Simple, turn off the autolock feature and let the passenger lock up the car on his way out. Last person out locks the car!
