Default GPS display

Has anyone had the display screen of their GPS go south? If you did, was there anything strange that happened prior, like colors changing?

Thanx,

If its the guidance screen that is off then Check your user settings from page 58 of the owner's manual:

User Settings
J User Settings: Touch this screen button from
the NAVIGATION SET UP screen. This feature
allows you to turn on and off several route options.
From this screen, you can adjust the following:
Road Restriction Warnings: This option instructs
the system to notify you when the current route
has traffic restrictions.
Arrival Time G (Time of Arrival): This option will
display the estimated time of arrival to the
destination.
Arrival Time \ (Time to Destination): This
option will display the amount of drive time
estimated to arrive at the destination.
Guidance Screen: This option will turn the
guidance screen on and off.

Freeway Information: This option will display
freeway exit information. This is only available on
freeways during route guidance.

Oh it works to my simple requirements, but the dominant colors are magenta and black, and my brain keeps telling me that this ain't the way it was (color-wise) when I bought the car.

I believe the background screen color can be changed from one of the screen views/menus...

Magenta and black is the color scheme that I set it to when I'm driving my car. My wife's key fob still has the default colors (blue I think?). There's a place in there somewhere to set the color scheme (maybe they call it skin?). Maybe you've just got that color scheme set. There's also a brightness setting and some day/night mode stuff so you might have the display set in a magenta color scheme and perhaps dimmed like night mode....that would probably look like your display was dying on you!

I do like that the colors are different, it instantly let's me know who's key the car is recognizing. The magenta isn't exactly the prettiest color, but it was the closest to red and I thought it should kinda sorta match the car!

Ok guy's, from what I'm reading I have no problem and the colors are changeable. I honestly can't say for sure what the colors were when I got the car 3 years ago. One day recently I was driving and actually was using it for guidance and thought 'those colors are strange, my display screen must be dying'.

Thanks for enlightening me!
