I'd like feedback from the Forum on two noises I've recently noticed in my '08 Couple A6.
First one is something I hear after starting it up, coming down my driveway, and turning left onto the neighborhood street. It sounds like a rattling pump type noise-lasts for about 15 seconds-then I never hear it again during the drive.
Second noise is when I pull into the garage, shut engine off & climb out. I hear a hissing sound like water being dropped onto a hot skillet. Is this air conditioner condensation hitting something in the engine?
If anyone has experienced something similar I'd appreciate hearing from you.
Could the 1st noise exiting the driveway be a lifter pumping up? If it is somewhat random it could be and would be most likey on startup. Just a thought...
