Well, it has happened again. I can't make up my mind. It happens with food, drink, women, and now Corvettes.

I can't decide if I want to order a standard coupe or a Grand Sport.

I like the look of the coupe just fine, but I love the "look" of the brakes with the Grand Sport and that wider rear is pretty lovely. I just am not sold on the side fender slits yet. I will likely not track the car, just drive it on the weekend or on Friday evenings.

Something to consider, those bigger tires on the Grand Sport need more frequent replacing than the smaller standard Vette tires, correct?

Any feedback?

By the way, the folks at Fichtner have been fantastic to deal with so far in the process.

Wider rear is "purtier"! Go for the GS.

If you can afford either, get the GS.

Get the standard coupe with the optional F55 suspension; it comes with larger cross-drilled brake rotors and superior ride and handling on less than perfect roads with bumpy curves, heaves and dips. The tires on the G/S are great for Summer autocrossing on dry pavement but wear out twice as fast and are more expensive to replace.

I had the treat of taking my friends GS Vert with f55 out Monday. It rode and drove like a dream. If money isn't a problem you can't go wrong with a GS with f55.

Thanks for that feedback.

I didn't realize the F55 came with larger cross-drilled brake rotors. I might go this route. Thanks!

Just buy the one you like best. You really can't go wrong. They're both beautiful machines. Either cars tires will wear the same. If you're spending 50ish grand on a weekend cruiser you shouldn't worry about replacing some tires once in a while.

Have you decided on color yet?

Color is a no brainer for me: Blade Silver

And you thought I'd pick Mao Zedong Red didn't you?!

My advice, go with the Grand Sport, now that the F55 is offered with it.

Here is my 2010 coupe with F55 suspension and a wide booty added. You can check out the brakes. The calipers have been powder coated.

NOT as big as Grand Sport brakes!

I can understand indecision, as buying a new cellphone is excruciating for me, let alone a nice car. Got it from my mom, who took two years to get her Camaro SS.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The GS is, IMO, the most beautiful car on the road ATM. Without trying to offend anyone (MY FLAVOR OF ICE CREAM IS BETTER THAN YOURS!), I find the coupe's side a bit boring and two-dimensional. I love the wide fenders and extra accoutrements on the side of the GS, just beautiful. I'm sure some people find the clean lines of the coupe more pleasing, and yes, some people refer to the side vents as "gills." Not sure why one vent isn't a "gill." It did take me a while to get used to the side badges, but there are aftermarket fixes for that, and I like them with chrome wheels.

If you find the coupe better looking, good for you, as you will save big! Hell, with the extra money you could almost afford a 2300 supercharger. The "ugliest" corvette is still better looking that the prettiest "stang." (Saw "STANG" on a license plate today with some dork driving a M4 vert around looking back and forth at people like he was in a Murcielago. Thought it looked more like Mustypoontang. Like a fat chick walking down the beach in a thong, thinkin' she's all that. ).

For those hating on this thread, forget 'em. I mean seriously coming in and wasting their time to hate on your topic? You have every right to post a new thread. GS's have only been around two model years...
