hello guys
is there a way to remove the over speed warning on my DIC
because after 75mph it just stays on and i cant remove it no mater what i do until i slow down
so if i am going more than 75mph i cant check the fuel range or the tire pressure
please can some on help me on this ?
Ummmm...it appears that C6 vettes for export got the overspeed warning
code activated..for some reason. Although I live in Canada, and would have it also if I had bought a Canadian car, I don't because I bought mine in the USA.
There is no access to this from the DIC.
Apparently, this is what you have to do to clear.
The overspeed code is UD4. A dealer or anyone with a code reader can clear the code for you.
Hope this helps !
Let us know how you make out.

You will need to check into which type of Code scanner/reader you need, but these can be purchased from e-bay or from a North American parts store ie: Canadian Tire, etc.
If you find an auto repair shop in your area, they may do it for you. I can't believe why the GM dealer wouldn't clear the code.
I have a friend with a code scanner /reader. I'll talk to him to see if that code can be accessed and cleared.

WOW, a Vette with a speed nanny warning. And at 75 mph no less, heck there are currently interstates with an 80 mph speed limit so just by driving the limit you'd have the DIC nagging you that you've reached less then half the speed the car is capable of. NO THANKS!!!
Ok, here's the deal.. a TechII code reader / scanner will read trouble codes and clear them. Unfortunately, the over speed alarm that is set on your car is found in the computer/diagnostic portion, so a simple code reader/scanner will find the code, but needs a code key to reset. To get a diagnostic computer access/reader is very expensive, as in over $2500.00, and even then....who knows how deep it's set in the computer, and if it needs a key code to access and clear.
I'll keep digging into this, and may even talk to a GM dealer mechanic, to see if he has ever reset one of these.
I know a few guys with C6's that have said that they get the overspeed alarm at 160KPM /100MPH, which is a bit better than your 120 KPH / 75MPH. I don't think they have tried to get it taken out.

man $2500
i thought maybe $500 max but but
i might bribe someone in the dealership with that or something
thanks again for the help and ill be waiting for your feedback
i went to the dealer and literally begged them to remove this annoying thing
they plugged the car in there computer using something called MDI <-- not sure about the name but i am sure its not the tech 2
i played with it left and right to no prevail
basically they told me they need a new calibration file from GM that doesn't include the UD4 code

Must be some law in the countries they live in to have that warning. I've had my Z06(USA) up to 162 MPH and no warnings.

That is actually a good feature, but only if its user adjustable. My Audi A8 had it and i would set it to remind me if I was going faster then I should be. Sometimes we dont notice !! I have never seen it on my vette though.
