Radar Detector Installtion
I am the proud owner of a 2011 GS Convertible!!!
I recently installed the Escort Qi45 remote detector without a great deal of difficulty, BUT I am soooooo tired of the false alerts! Has anyone tried to install the 9500ix remotely? Can it stand up to the weather? Is a remote module for the dash available? I can not spend $1700-2000 for the 9500ci. Any vert owners with the same fears that I have about having you top cut to steal a windshield-mounted detector?

It's now a Redline, but uses the same mount, so I didn't have to change anything. If I am parking somewhere where I am concerned, I take the Redline down in 5 seconds and put it in my back pocket. I am still amazed by the performance of the Redline...

Haha, if he doesn't like the Escort false alerts, a V1 would drive him crazy.
To the OP, I have a 9500ix mounted on the driver's visor and powered by the mirror:
The driver's visor is still functional, and as a bonus, hides the RD if you get stopped by a LEO!
As far as I know, there is no remote display for the 9500ix, but you could wire the controller (for mute) somewhere without too much difficulty.

i have my 9500ix mounted under mirror with blendmount easily removed in a second if i feel the need. also you can use their direct wire which has a litle remote display can be used to mute and mark out false alarms by pressing mute 3x its a great setup.
