Default Need advice

Hi all - I have been searching for something like this, and want opinions on whether it's a good deal or if I should run for the hills.

http://www.buyavette.com/2010%20Corv...ock%202843.php

I'm not a gear head (wish I knew a lot more), but love the power that american muscle has.

Just wondering why it would have such low miles with all these mods.

Thanks in advance for your input.

57K is a lot of money for a used 2010 Vette. Remember, people do not get back what those mods cost them. AND, you need to question the reliability of a modded car like this. If you plan on modding anyway, just like it is, then yes it my be a good deal for YOU.

If you're not a gear-head then I'd recommend against buying a modified car. There's plenty of American muscle in a stock Corvette (more than you'll know what to do with) and stock will be much more reliable...not to mention without possible warranty issues.

If you don't believe me, check out this thread...

As mentioned above modded Corvettes usually sell for less than a completely clean low mileage stock one. Reliability is another issue. Most buyers wont even look at a modded Corvette. You will hear the other side of this argument for sure.

you've gotten good advice above. I'd say ignore it at your own risk.

Buyavette webmaster here, hope you all don't mind me chiming in.

As to the original poster's question (why all the mods with low miles), I would guess that the original owner had credit issues, a divorce, or some other event that forced them to not be able to keep the car after doing the mods. Although most of our low-mileage cars are stock, we occasionally do get low mileage cars that have mods, in which case we usually de-mod them. As de-modding a supercharged car is very labor intensive and usually leaves obvious signs that the car previously had a supercharger, we have decided to leave this one alone.

I usually notice crooked exhaust tips, but managed to miss this one. At any rate, I've written up a work order, so we will get them even, and I'll fix the photos.

As much as we want to sell the car, it needs to go to the right buyer, which is going to be a gearhead in this case. I would not recommend a supercharged car for anyone that's NOT going to be taking it to the track, going to weekly cruise-in's, etc. Besides, if you're not a gearhead, you will be more than satisfied with the power of a stock LS3 (2008-current).

If you like the Grand Sport, we have two other coupes in stock, a Black 2011 3LT (loaded), and another Silver 2010 with 4LT (loaded plus interior material upgrade package). Both are still under bumper-to-bumper factory warranty. I think you would be happy with the performance of either of those cars, and they are both bone stock. If you have something specific in mind, let us know -- we have a very good Corvette locator service.

IMO the corvettes on the forum that seem to have the most serious issues have been aggressively modified.

I am not in the market for a corvette as I just purchased a new 2011 Z06, but this is a great post with good advice from the actual seller of the car. I would take him up on looking at that silver 4lt packaged car. I have a 3LZ and I can tell you the leather wrapped interior looks fantastic! Black is impossible to keep looking like a million bucks and silver would be the exact opposite.....very easy to maintain the lighter colors.

Good luck and hope you purchase one! I waited all my life and just love walking out to the garage to see my dream car!

On a side note: Do not settle for a car...take your time in your search. Get exactly what you want the first time. Tons of Corvettes out there.

Regards,
Scott
