Default Tires

I have just switched to FIRESTONE Firehawk run flats. Has anyone had any experiance with these tires? So far I really like the way they handle. I will be interested in how they do after 5-6K on them. Any one run these tires?

I had the SZ50 version on my 97. They were excellent tires. Handled well and in an autocross on a Go Kart Track were as fast in the rain as the OEM GYs were in the dry.

Shouldn't you have asked the questions before you bought the tires?

they will outwear the goodyears, provide a better ride, and traction and cornering capability is most excellent. Wise choice.

I've got about 12 or 13K on mine now and still like them. Didn't really have a problem with the GY except I hit a pot hole and got a bubble on the right front at about 27K miles so decided to replace all with a less expensive setup. Happy with the FS WO Runflats. Hoping to get many more miles out of them also.

The only negative thing I've seen on this forum is that a Firestone cannot be fixed if it's punctured. If that's so it kind of wipes out the reason for buying them.

Maybe 1000 miles on mine and I like them. Even took fast time in a very wet autocross with them. I got 35K out of my goodyears so we will see. They are quieter that is for sure.

That's good to know. I'd definitely consider them.

had them on my 09 until I recently traded to 2011 GS. I loved that tire over the GY

Just put a set of the Firestone Wide Oval RFTs on my '08 coupe about 10days ago. I got a bit better than 22k out of the original Goodyears. I almost went with the Michelan Pilot Sport A/S 2 but decided at the last minute that I did not want all season tires. Several years ago I had replaced the Goodyears on my '00 C5 with the Firestones and I really liked them. Quiet, smooth ride and relly good grip. Great wet traction, too. I really liked them on the C5 and I am very happy with this version on the C6. (And they can be repaired, just like the Goodyears; I checked before I bought them).

I have a 05 C6, excellent tires, smooth and quiet, I choose these over the Michelin Pilots A/S 2.

Put them on my '06 and had very good handling and great ride. I will buy them again when my '10 needs em.
