Default 2007 Project: worth pursuing?

I came across a Monterrey red 2007 automatic coupe at a storage lot. The car has no body damage, but was towed to storage after it had been stripped. When I say stripped, I mean stripped. No drivetrain or interior. Stuff that was missing: engine, trans, exhaust, radiator, brakes, wheels, complete interior including dash/gauges/wiring/ducting all gone. There really isn't a lot left. What IS there: body is complete with top, hatch, hood, all windows, all lights, suspension mostly intact but front and rear knuckles with all brake parts gone.

The car is just sitting on the suspension in the dirt. The body and paint are actually in great shape. It has a clear bra that protected the front. The title is clean and clear. The storage owner said the owner stripped it, had it towed in, paid one month's rent, and then never heard from him again. Storage filed a lien and got title to the car. I really have no idea why someone did this to this poor Corvette. It's been sitting there for just over a year. The storage place is asking $6,000 but they're taking bids.

It looks to me like it'd be a good project if someone had a wrecked '07 so they could just transfer parts. For someone with the the tools, time, and place it may well be worthwhile. But is something like this worth getting into for the average owner? I'm not particularly looking for a C6 right now, but just wondering what I'd be getting into financially and in terms of effort. By the time I buy a parts car or all the parts, pay a shop to install the drivetrain, and deal with who knows how many hidden expenses, would I be money ahead (not to mention time and effort) to just buy a nice '07? Thanks for any thoughts!

If you have to buy the missing parts, and would have to pay someone to do the work, it's probably not even worth a few hundred bucks to you. The cost to get it back to C6 condition would most likely be more than the cost of buying a used 2005. It would be different if you did the work yourself, or you were combining it with another wrecked exterior parts doner but still not $6k in value.

it will cost you way more to get it together than it would cost to buy one. And this may/will have plenty of unforseen problems. pass!

Someone with too much money built a kit car out of a non-salvage.

$600, OK, $6000 NO WAY. There's no way that this would be worth anything unless you had a second salvage.
