Im faced with a 500.00 question, should I have the Air Intake ported. My ZO6 is going into the tuner in about 2 weeks to get a stage 2 package, cam/heades/x-pipe/CAI. Im very new to muscle cars and performance in hancing options. Is it worth the 500.00 to get the air intake ported while the car is apart for this install or should I save myself the money and leave it alone?
if you are going that far, do it if you have the means. maybe even have the intake replaced with a Fast (@ $1k ported). then you only have to have it tuned once and you can enjoy it until the bug hits you again.
$500 is to high for porting a stock intake. Lots of shops doing it for around $300.
Yes, I agree. Our shop charges $250 for basic porting and $370 for radical porting (includes return shipping in US). You can go to our website to see the difference: http://www.peakspeedshop.com
We have an LS7 intake manifold in stock if you would like it shipped to arrive in time for your scheduled time in the shop. You just need to pay a core charge which is refundable when your old core is shipped back.

I'd recommend porting the throttle body along with intake manifold. Always a sure "seat of the pants" improvement!
Definitely! I agree. We charge just $75 to port the throttle body when we also port the intake manifold. We also have ported throttle bodies in stock for the LS7.

Well I kind of look at it like this... you're putting in a bigger cam to pull more air through a straw... if the straw is bigger, you will get alot more air....
Peak Speed Shop is running a special on porting intake manifolds and throttle bodies to Corvette Forum members through January 15th, 2012. Here is a link to the thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...y-porting.html
