What kind of city/highway do you typically get after you added a supercharger? I've been considering one but I got a cts-v for the weekend and holy smokes is it thirsty! The vette weighs 1k less so it should be better than the caddy.
I'm sure I might get a response that if I care about mpg's don't get one but any help is appreciated.
I get the same, if not slightly better, than a stock C6. I average 22mpg with mixed driving. All depends on the driving style. On the highway, still over 30 mpg.
I haven't considered supercharging my vette but my friend who owns a C5 installed one on his vehicle and saw 30 mpg going and coming from NC to Bowling Green. Driving habits usually determine fuel mileage. When first installed you will be more tempted to use the extra power which will use more fuel but it will probably be so much fun you won't mind the extra expense.
As much as I like superchargers, I'm leaving mine stock for this year.
I put a KenneBell on my Mustang and gained 160 rwhp. However, my mileage went down from 24 to 18 in mixed driving and on the track, I would get 4.5 mpg. With my GS, I get 10 mpg on the track going all out. I'm sure that would go down a lot with a supercharger.
More Power = More Air and More Fuel. The last time I checked on the dyno. I was getting 6.5 mpg on a full pull to 6500 rpm making 627 rwhp. I rarely go above 5500 rpm since it is making over 525 rwhp and that gets the job done. Other than that, it drives like stock cruising around. Having a S/C'd Vette will break your face due to the excessive grinning. It is a blast even with 8 psi.
