service today. Let's see if the new rear end fluid helps. 9,000 miles on car.
After a one week wait (the fluid needed to be ordered) to get the car in for the fluid change, the parts department did not order enough. The FSB calls for a change, run, flush and refill. I must have the only corvette this dealer has seen? So, they ordered another batch and will finish the job tomorrow. I don't have my owners manual, what is the capacity of the rear end? A person would think the fluid would be a stock item, I guess not.
I did the rear end on my Z06 and it takes 2.5 qts, slightly more than non-Z06. Make sure they use LS75W-90 since that's the new stuff that doesn't use an additive. I don't recall them requiring to flush it and change again though. I changed the fluid on my prior C6 and it does get rid of the chatter for good too.

My 2007 is in for this as well, among other issues. I sincerely hope I don't wait as long... fluid should be stocked.
Anyways, what does the FSB have to do with this? Didn't think it was an international conspiracy.

Because the GM Chevrolet dealership is reading the FSB I'm going to assume they are using the proper fluid. But, I also assumed they would have ordered the proper amount when I called and asked the service mgr to check for the FSB. I will sure ask tomorrow though. I guess I should not assume anything with these folks. I'm still amazed that they had to order it in first place!

I know....I had my prior '07 vert done by the dealership and even though they had the TSB that stated LS75W-90 (and I had a copy of it), I saw them carrying the fluid to my car into the service bay and it was the wrong stuff; they had the older spec fluid. I changed the fluid in my Z06 myself so I know the right fluid was used.
Too bad you didn't notice it before your 3/36 expired so it would be warranty. I had a very slight noise but after reading all over the forum about the helpful fluid change, I had them do it at my "35 1/2-month service." for free
After a few screw up's Mr Goodwrench got the lube changed. The tech did not read the bulletin all the way through and because of that the parts mgr did not order enough LS75W90. It only requires approx. 2.5 quarts but, the factory say's change, flush, run and change. So, they reorded. The lube did not arrive like it was supposed to this AM. The service mgr sent a porter to a town 1-1/2 hours away for the material. I drove the car away at 4:30PM today. It is a totally different car!! I noticed the difference when I pulled onto the highway. The shift from first to second is also quiet and smooth. All this time I thought it was my inability to shift properly The MAF sensor was also replaced. I was not happy about all the delays. But could only say thank you when I saw N/C 0.00 in the "Please Pay This Amount" box.
Hang on I'll go check the odometer. Yup! I'm right 9,000 miles. It had 3,000 last summer when I bought it, also sat in the garage unsued from Novenber 1st until May 15th :-))
By the way, other than the new car delivery wash it has never been wet:-))
