Just got my Escort Redline and was fumbling for a way to install it in my 2008 JSB vert when I came across this item. http://www.blendmount.com/corvette.html
Expensive ($130) but really well done. Made specifically for the C6. It does not interfere with the movement of the mirror since it hangs form the post before the mirror joint. Great line of sight through the rear window. It also puts the Redline's controls close at hand so that the remote Smartcord's controls are not necessary.
I just ran power from a fuse tap (Bussmann BP/HHH ATM Add-A-Fuse) around the A pillar and the top of the windshield liner. Pick a fuse that is cycled by the ignition switch and works in the AUX position (I used the WPR/WSW 10A under the flexible black cover behind the passenger's foot well). For wire, you can get the Escort 79-001059-01 Direct Wire (without the controls) or make your own from phone cord - takes a standard phone connector. Just made a 2400 mile trip with this setup - worth every penny.
I have a blendmount to and love it. You know they make a cord that you can tap into the back of your mirror for power...as opposed to running from the fuse box. IT does the same thing...turns off when car is off and on when you turn it on. $14.00 dollars and snaps in pretty quick.
The Blendmount is a great piece of engineering! I actually prefer my old VOZ mount (visor clip bracket) though. To me, the view twoards the right side of the car is already pretty limited with just the rearview mirror. Adding anything extra just bugs me. Plus, having it higher makes it less conspicuous from outside of the car - helpful when I get lazy about removing it.

I think the blendmount is very nice, but I have the same concern as above. Comments?
It's a great looking mount, I just don't like where it puts the detector. This is what I did with my 8500 X50 and just recently replaced it with a Redline...
The downside to mirror mounts is they put your RADAR detector (and all of its bright, blinky lights) right out there for the world to see. Not only will some people crowd around you and try to use you as a RADAR shield, but if a cop sees it you can go from "warning" to "ticket" faster than you can go 0 - 60.

Can you tell me where you bought this "Bussmann BP/HHH add-a-fuse??"
I hated mine when I had it on the mirror mount. It was always in my line of sight when looking right. I just went back to the standard suction cup mount up high left of the mirror. I have since added the Dashtronix HUD display and lover it for the V1. I wish I could show you guys the videos of it in action, but the statute of limitations have not expired!

This is the one I have used for years. Mounts high and out of sight. Less theft potential, easy to see and reach, and cheap. Probably 7 bucks for a ruler, a phone cord and a fuse tap.
I did have to add 2 pieces of foam to stop shaking on rough roads...one where the detector gets close to the windshield header and one where the bracket gets close to the windshield.
I like the blendmount location just below the mirror. It gives my Valentine a good view to the rear. IMHO it blends in nicely with the mirror as most of the detector is forward of the mirror. It is pricey, but quite a piece of engineering and very stable on the road. Being tall, my sight line is at the mirror not the detector. I leave the mount in place and occasionally remove the Valentine.

Elegant? Holy hell, $130 for a mount? For that price, a "mount" had better be sold at a place with the words "chicken ranch" in its name.
