During a recent inspection of the vette I noticed that the fins of the radiator seemed to be taking a beating from road debris. I decided I needed something to slow down the normal trash from the road we all pickup as we scoot down the highway.
I decided the same product I used for the gill openings and bottom intake could be used behind the stock grill to buffer anything headed toward the radiator. Cheap stuff from home depot, look for hinged gutter guard. Cut to fit then painted black and held in place with zip ties.
Here is a shot of the bottom opening covered with same gutter guard.
Just fineshed washing before taking the picts.
THanks to Ed at Pipedreams for the template for the gills (no picts).
I mounted my gutter guard to the FRONT of the stock grill with black door guard attached around the outside edge. That's the stuff that is about 24 inches long, 2 to a pack at the parts store. Looks like a Rascemsh grill for 5 bucks.
