Default Lube for creaking door hinges?

Both of the doors creak as if the hinges needed lubrication. When the doors are partially open and you start to move them to either open them further or to close them up, the hinges will creak. It makes this same sort of noise when going over chatter bumps with the doors closed.

What is the recommended way to lubricate the hinges?

Thanks.

I use GM Superlube Multi Purpose Lubricant (GM Part # 12346241). Comes in a aerosol can with a plastic straw extension for the sprayer so you don't get it all over everything. This is what is recommended in the vehicle owner's manual for the hood and door hinges.

I use white lithium grease, with the plastic tube extension. I've never had the problem with the doors closed on bumps though...only while opening or closing at the furthest hinge point.

1) If it's supposed to move and doesn't- WD40

2) if it does move and shouldn't- Duct tape

You don't need much - - just a very short spritz . . then wipe off with a paper towel . .otherwise, dust sticks to it . .

I clean the hinges with WD-40 first (spray, wipe dry), and then give them a shot of grease. Work the doors a number of times, and then wipe clean. BTW, the rubber "accordian" wire duct in each door will look 100% better if you give it a shot WD40 or a good rubber protectant.
