You can make them yourself out of hockey pucks and I-bolts. Do a search and you will find examples. Made them myself for under $10.

It takes no time, no money and no brains, there is no excuse for paying big bucks for them, none whatsoever.

I got some used hockey pucks, and they work just fine! I keep a set in the garage, and carry a set (four) in the car when we travel. I put bolts through one set, but you really don't need to do that. Keep it simple.

Sure you can make them youself, but for less than $20, you can buy a set on the main auction site. To save $10, I am not going to drive to a sporting goods store, then Home Depot to buy the right sized eye bolts, then look for the right size bit etc., etc..

I bought 4 sets. Gave 3 away as xmas gifts to friends who had never heard of them. Sure I could have made them myself. I guess I am just a lazy big spender.

I jacked mine up a few days ago without using any pucks at all. It was the first time I had to jack it up and didn't know if I would be able to do it or not without pucks. There was plenty of space around the jacking spot for the jack not to damage the rockers and I don't have a low profile jack. It was no different for me than jacking up any other car. When I let it down off the jack I looked under there and you couldn't even tell there was ever a jack in that spot.

I agree, but I have them for when I'm NOT the one jacking up the car.

Got nerve? Look at all the cracked rails done by supposedly trained Corvette mechanics. Not to mention all the kids working for oil change or tire places.

20 bucks will be well spent. Safe rather than sorry.

What exactly are you doing, as change out to track wheels, and a forum member gave me a BMW rectangular puck, as only doing one wheel at a time. Using a low profile floor jack, and just move the puck around. Reason for the pucks, if you look underneath, the rocker panels roll under the car and there's a gap between the frame. Lifting without a puck puts all the weight on the rocker's first and can crack them.

So 4 sets and $20 (please show me the link where they are only $20) = $80

If you did them yourself, it would be 4x$10 (max)= $40 now were are talking high roller money and you feel like a man for doing them yourself, not a poofster.

Plus 4 sets would be done in maybe an hour and not a week waiting for the mailman to show up with them.

The eye bolt holds it in place.....you put it in skinny, quarter turn to fat and it sits in place.
