Default Skip Shift eliminator installation instructs

I just ordered the skip shift eliminator from the forum sponsor and wondered what is needed to install it. From what I have seen in the ad it states to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. Is this necessary or can you leave it connected? If the battery is disconnected, is there anything other than the clock that would need to be reset?

Anytime you disconnect the battery, or it dies, when you reconnect you have to re-index the windows:

Get in, close the doors
Start the car or turn on ignition
Raise the windows all the way up and HOLD the switches up for 3 seconds and release.
Hold the switches up again for 3 seconds and release.
Done

Here are a couple threads with pics of the CAGS eliminator, instructions and pics. Obviously I assumed this is the one you're getting.

I did not disconnect my battery....I didn't have any problems.

I used one rhino ramp and backed up and did it on th driveway...about 5 minutes.

Just hoist 'er up, go to the rear on the driver's side and you'll see the connection. Unplug it and put the protective plug over the transmission side connection and then plug the remaining end into the cags by-pass device you purchased. Be sure to use the wire tie to secure the wire somewhere to keep it from falling down and being torn loose. You can almost do it blindfolded it is so easy.

I didn't disconnect the battery when I installed on the CTS-V, but on my Corvette I used the cags eliminator that replaces the CAGS fuse under the Corvette's hood. Simple as anything could be without crawlin' under the car.

I purchased mine from this site. Go to the top of the page and click on the drop down menu labeled Store in the red bar. It is the fourth choice from the left side of the page. It will take you to the link for the parts. Mine is in transit and I hope will be here soon so I can install it.

I used the one from my C5 and the only thing I would suggest is tie wrap the wire harness to the frame so it does not hang down.
