Looks like you need a new outer CV joint:
A big breaker bar to remove spindle nut, knuckle needs to come off ball joints (you might need ball joint tool), CV joint can be tapped off with block of wood and hammer. Probably want new CV boot and lube too.
I snapped mine in the same place. Takes 30 minutes to swap once you have the car on jacks. Mine was a combo of wheel hop and the fact the axle nut had loosened itself to only finger tight. Buy Z06 axles to replace them.
I read in another thread where someone mentioned that the axles were a weak link, in order to prevent differentials from breaking. Its 'much cheaper for the General to fix/replace an axle vs. a diff.
