Last night on my way home, there was an unmarked, unsigned, large 2 lane wide cut into the road, almost 5 feet long. I was only going 30 mph when I hit into the gap.
The airbag warning light came on and stayed on until I got home. I then noticed the rubber seal around the headlight had loosened as well.
It wasn't that deep, but it was a jarring hit. This morning, the warning light is off.
Any thoughts?
No, it isn't normal and it will be difficult to pin down.
If it doesn't come back on, chalk it up to a communication error with one of the restraint system connectors but keep in mind that while the airbag light is on, your restraint system isn't operating.

Mine comes on briefly at times, sometimes when going over a bump, and it happened to come on while OnStar was doing a requested scan. The "advisor" said because his scan didn't show any error the system was still working and it was a "glitch" with the light????? I worry about what talon says!
I have previously had seat belt pretensioners replaced for intermittent problems with the light and that fixed it before.
I think I'd be hollering at someone about the unmarked road hazard. Glad there was no serious damage but someone could get killed that way!
That won't have any affect in the Memphis area. I have had to buy 2 wheels and at least 3 tires due to road hazards the city should be responsible for, and they have denied every claim.
