Default It still hurts

Went to the shop today to pick up my transmission and take it to Century for an upgrade. When I walked in this is what I saw and it still hurts. My new engine should be finished by the end of the week and with any luck I will be back on the road in two weeks. I need to stay away from the shop because every time I walk in I tell them to add more stuff.

I wonder if JB weld can fix this

Car has 8000 miles on it, list of Mods is in the signature below. As far as what happened goes it threw a rod. I cleaned the car up and had it in the garage. My cousin came over for my sons party and wanted to ride in the car. We drove out of the neighborhood got out on the main road and at about 55MPH hit the gas. The car downshifted ( auto trans ) and and BANG she spit her guts out. No dropped valve, no bent valve, it threw a rod and sent piston parts through the intake into all the other cylinders.

Cup holder while you work on the engine?

That sucks. Good luck with the rebuild.

inspection port for checking your oil, it is new. For the next 50 guys that send me $59.95 I can forward on the secret to my inspection hole, but act fast because this is a limited offer.

Do you know why it threw the rod? Those Mods don't seem too bad, How aggressive was the Cam?

Im on a similar setup (Without the Oil Check hole)

You do not show the car. Hand built motor or off the line?

I did replace my rods, but I'm not making quite as much power as you.

If I were you, I'd take really good pics and send them to GM. On the next higher performance model, they can replicate the hole, put a polycarbonate cover over it, and charge $$$$! Then you can get royalties!

Hope everything goes well with the new build.

Yeah, pretty amazing that the engine let go with your mods but sometimes thats just the way it is! Sounds like you won't be worrying about it this time around though. BTW, cool video.

With that setup I am very surprised you aren't going with a high stall torque converter. Everything else looks like a good build, maybe go with some high flowing heads and you'll be set! What compression ratio is your new build going to be at?
