Anyone know the nut size on the positive cable post that is located on the under hood fuse panel box. It would be the Positive cable post used for jumping the car. Also any ideas as to what the proper "thread pitch, or if its a fine, medium, or course thread? Just want to tie down a buddy's battery tender cable there without removing the nut that is already there.
What is the difference between removing the nut and installing the cable vs. installing with another nut?
It's my buddy's new C6 and I didn't know what functions might get bumped when the positive terminal was loosened to that fuse box. I have to occasionally relearn the key fobs on my C5 when power is interrupted. Answering your question technically nothing, the 15 cent nut eliminates all that hassle.
Don't forget you can't just use a regular nut to replace the stock one. It's fine to put on top like you are doing, but the stock one is conical shaped on the bottom to push out the clamp to hold it tight. I got a new one on Ebay when I lost mine.
