Default X Pipe

GM offers a performance X pipe to replace the standard H pipe on C6's does any one know what the advantage of the 'x' verses the 'h' using the stock mufflers?

They are standard in 08 and up I believe and not much of a difference between the two.

Thanks...I guess I'm the knucklehead...it is an '08! I guess the parts department @ my dealership will try to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge also!

They're standard on coupes from 09 & up, not 08's. Z06's got them in 2011 & up.

If the '08 & '09 spec out the same (hp & torc) what is the advantage? Are you saying GM changed the exhaust in '08 (from '07) & again in '09 but not the x pipe in '08?

Advantage(s) could have been price, better flow @ higher RPMs, more exotic sounding exhaust etc; kinda hard to tell, I don't work for GM.

I personally prefer x pipes over H pipes but that's my opipion. They help equalize exhaust pressures from one bank to the other. 09's also got a slightly different bend in the tubing near the axles but nothing that would affect performance.

Save your money if you plan to add headers at some point. They have their own x-pipe.
