The last time I had a flat on the Vette Discount Tire fixed it for free, so there is something to be said for loyalty.
Completely understandable. Many times I've paid a more to buy everything from the same place, at the same time.. especially if the customer service is excellent. Not to mention with a 50,000 mile treadlife.. it should be a longgg time before you have to purchase tires again.

Then something has changed. I got my A/S tires a year ago at Costco and am very pleased. I called the manager, he ordered the tires, called me three days later and they put them on.

Apology in advance for noob question

Do the TPMS sensors have to be replaced when getting new tires?

I just gave $1600 for mine with the whole enchilada, including free replacement for any reason within the first year. I'm sure I could have shopped around a little more and saved a small amount but the shop I bought them at is 1/2 mile from my house and has a lot of local outlets so if I have an issue it will be easy to have it taken care of. I got another quote for $2200 so it definitely pays to shop around.

FYI, I was told the fronts have been on backorder since June so if you find someone that has them you might want to buy them.

I forgot to mention that the $1600 did not include the $70 mail-in rebate so my actual total cost was $1530. I could even do the subtraction in my head!

Not unless the battery is bad or you think it's getting close to time to replace them. They aren't all that cheap to replace.

Paid $1,200 out the door for a set of four with no alignment. Sears had $70 rebate, tax free weekend in Massachusetts.

Just got the rears replaced with the Sport A/S Plus's. Discount Tire has them for $350 ea. Did the fronts 1.5 years ago. So far the fronts have out lasted the OEM Goodyears in terms of miles driven. No complaints.

Like everything else at Costco you were lucky to get them when you did because next time they won't be there.

Ok, I know some of you will tell me you get more miles than I stated on super tires, but others are getting less. If the talked about expectation of the A/S turns out to be half as good. The pennies do add up.
I have an 08, Z51 coupe with 25k miles on a set of PS2 ZP's (not A/S) and a drive spirited to say the least! I plan on going at least a few more thousand miles before replacing them with another set of ZP's or the Michelin Super Sports if sizes are available. BTW: The OEM Supercars lasted me 16k.

Normally don't the fronts run out faster than the rears?

If you are just checking the website, you need to call...the manager told me that they can order any Michelin tire.

I didn't know Costco would mount tires you didn't buy from them.
(This is a good thing)
So you can purchase from somewhere else and still get the same road hazards and warranties?

Agreed I would call the store manager. Costco sells Michelin.. and the AS+ is a very popular tire line, not some niche brand. I believe its even the OEM tire on some Mercedes.

If you go this route won't you get hit with expensive shipping charges for tires?
I have found Discount Tire has a great assortment all under one roof and they said they will match Tire Rack's price.

He said that if Michelin makes it, he can order it in. Costco has not stopped carrying Michelin, they just have a less than perfect website.

I see. Not a bad idea.
It was the counter person in the tire shop that looked up in his computer and books on what was available which amounted to one tire made by Bridgestone.
