05 C6 curse, fuel door actuator not working. Looks like there is a spring that pushes the popper back so the fuel door will stay clothed is broken. Anyone know if it's a dealer only, If so I'm picking up my Silverado tomorrow From Billkay Chevy I can just grab it then. Man will I ever be done dropping coin on this sports car, LOL!

My guess is somewhere in the world you could find the same part. Your odds, however, are slim to none. You would have to find the part number, and spend weeks on the Internet cross-referencing. And you still may come up empty.
Good luck!

Fuel door issues seem to be pretty common. And it look like it's easily fixed (not a problem on my 09, so I can't give first-hand info).
Some folks have reported fixes using WD-40 or the spring from a ballpoint pen.
Or you can replace the actuator for under $100. See the DIY pdf-file in post #8 here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...se-sticks.html
I bet your dealer has the part in stock, or can get it quickly.
If you want more info, do a search for "fuel door", lots of threads on this topic, like this:

Unless they give you a discount on parts, don't buy it from Billkay.
Get it from PartsTaxi or GM Parts House here on the forum.

Fuel door actuator
I ran into this problem 2 weeks ago. I fueled up at my local gas station and afterwards the door would not stay shut. I believe after i researched it the replacement part was about $100. I went the ballpoint pen spring route. It took a little work but it is working fine. If you want to PM me I can give you some details on how to fix.

Well went to Chevy and I bit the bullet, I spent $102 to get the darn thing, I figured it was a whole lot easier than trying to pull the thing apart, it only took me 15 min to put the new one in. I'm a happy camper.
