ok im looking at trading my 2011 camaro 1SS for a 2011 GS 3LT
i have purchased pretty much every warranty i can get with the camaro 10 yr 120k extended
i have paid about 15k on the car already still owe around 24k on the car
now if i am to trade the car in since i dont feel safe driving it with the HUGE blindspots would i be reinbursed for the warranty or do i just kiss that money goodbye?
thanks

Cheaper thing is to adjust your mirrors properly. I drove one and when I adjusted the mirrors the way they are supposed to be, there were no blind spots and I never have to turn my head when lane changing. This is one of the biggest mistakes by drivers of any types of vehicles. Professional drivers, race car drivers don't turn their heads when changing lanes etc. Think about all those big trucks and panel vans with no windows..it's all in the mirror positions.
got a better paying job and love the look of the C6 GS
plus i can have a removable roof and i have a hard time getting in the camaro with my bad knee no issues with the VETTE
Sounds like a question you should be asking the people who sold you the extended warranty. Dealer? Same dealer? If so, wouldn't that be a factor in negotiations on the new Corvette? Is it transferable?
No offense, but buying a 10 year/120k mile warranty seems extreme. I'm betting you paid a fair piece of coin for that! I only go for the 5 year deals. I usually get bored with the car long before that.
same dealer my work gets good discounts through gm and family worked for them
plus my camaro is black i really dont have problems with the rear blind spots its the a pillars and sitting at the lights its hard to see the lights here in my town
Racer is 100% correct..I use to race and you never ever turn your head just your eyes.its all in the mirrors...good luck...
And with Racer. When I did my Skip Barber thing they showed us how to set up our mirrors. Left, center and right. There is a balance that gives you safe views of what is going on around you.
Once I learned that trick, turning your head is a waste of neck muscles. Eyes should cover it.
Unfortunately, I do not believe the dealership will refund your money for the warranty however you could call the toll-free number on your warranty information and ask them directly what the policy is.
Also, trading in your Camaro may put you underwater in a vette.... have you considered selling the Camaro out right?
Whatever you decide, I hope your dream of owning one of these fine machines comes true... definitely the best decision I ever made.

Stewie, in the future, you don't need to buy such an extreme warranty off the showroom floor. If you get a 4-5 year warranty, by the time it is coming due (and if you still have the car) you can buy an extension.

Now I would think the opposite being true.
As low as the Corvette sets, I would think it would be very difficult for someone with "bad knees" to get in and out of a Corvette (especially getting out of the car).

as said above, you're going to get a royal taking for trading in, but that's your call w. new job. as to blind spots, I know what you're talking about and there's only so much mirrors adjusted will/can do.
many, but not all, prepaid service contracts have a sell-back feature where you can get most or all of your money returned if you haven't used it. I'd say, call your dealer that sold you the policy(ies), and ask how much you can get back if you wanted to get out of those contracts. it could be a substantial sum, even if they aren't the ones returning the money (the policy company is/may be).

If you have a hard time getting in/out of a Camaro b/c of your bad knee, your in for a surprise w/the Vette.

If you really have bad knees I would suggest you give this trade a second and a third thought!! You might take a beating if you trade the Camaro for the Vette but the last thing you want is to loose money on a trade and then find out you bought a $60k+ vehicle that you can not stand!
There is a whole lot to love about these cars but entry/exit is tough especially when you are trying to be careful not to scrub your shoes and scratch paint. However, if you have made up your mind I would contact the dealer where you purchased your Camaro and ask them about the warranty and possible refund. Second, sell the Camaro yourself and then take the money and use as a down payment. There is no point of of losing anymore money than necessary. Finally, good luck and let us know how it turns out!

Unfortunately, he was making up excuses, he finally said he just wants a Vette, which he should of said in the first place.
