We decided to buy a new 2009 in June of that year, the order pipeline was already closed so we had to get one off a lot somewhere. Hendricks had 2 exactly identical cars, optioned the way i wanted. Discussions with the online salesman (forgot his name) went perfectly. He gave me an excellent price on the car, I flew in and drove both of them to pick the one I wanted. No problems or "misunderstandings." I'd be happy to deal with him again.
Things went downhill with the actual paperwork guy (finance manager, tho I paid in full?) From India, hard to understand, and a real jerk. I actually got to the point i was going to walk out just because he insisted on my buying various plans and signing paperwork that was not part of the deal.
Finally I escaped him, the original deal was that some dealer installed items (grill, cove screens, padded console, etc) would be removed because i didn't want them. The service department took forever to do the work, and I had the feeling they just wanted to get this car out the door, no matter what. When I got home, I discovered they had simply discarded some of the screws that had to be removed & replaced, when deleting the options. And stripped the screws in the console lid.
A few weeks later, I got an evaluation form asking me to rate my experiences with them. To say the least, I was pretty direct about my experience with the finance guy and the service department. Never heard another word from them.

That finance guy was an *** Jim. They all will try and 'add' to the deal since those 'add-on' items are high margin. But a good FM will back off at the slightest hint of concern by the buyer.
I live in the area and have purchased several cars from their cadillac shop (Escalade STSV)..was very pleased and assumed their chevy store would be the same....needless to say... when I was in the market for my '08 C6 they had a car that was perfect...I also had a Ferrari I wanted to trade in...they took the car for almost 2 hours having several people drive it... assuring me they wanted to give me the best deal....they had a small crowd gathered.. they kept saying they wanted to give me the best deal and would call me with a final number...After 2 weeks I called and they said they they were still researching.....I am still waiting for them to call...I finally purchased my C6 from a out of state dealer who took my Ferrari on trade site unseen!...PS... when ever I call service for an oil change...no matter who I speak to...and with out them knowing my history....it is always a 3 day wait! They sell a lot of cars...but never the one advertised! Good luck!
I have only good to say sbout my dealings there. Purchased my first and second Vettes at Hendricks. If I still lived in the area I would keep going there. My experiences with the service dept. have been outstanding, professional and curtious at all times.
Now what really suprised me was how I was treated when I purchased my preowned Z06 at a Dodge dealer. I still received the same caliber of treatment for my service and warranty work.
Go figure. I say Hendrick Chevy in Cary is as good as one can expect.
I personally would never deal with Hendrick Chevy. Prices are inflated, service dept. is arrogant, and salespeople are very unpersonable. I visited there twice when buying my Vette first time I thought it was because I was in Sweats and they may have thought I was full of BS. 2nd time I went in a suit after work and recieved the same attitude. There are good deals out there but doubtful you will find them at Hendricks in Cary!
You might try Hendrick in Durham, actually closer to the airport. I bought a 2012 GS there 2 weeks ago from Matt Ball after being frustrated by Hendrick Cary. The finance guy took all of 3 minutes and the whole experience was great. I paid by wire transfer.
They can get cars from the Cary inventory. Or from any of the Hendrick dealerships. The Cary dealership tends to load their cars with dealer options, though. In my case the price was way lower than Cary ($10K off a $70K sticker) as well.
I have had no dealing with them but this name just came up on another thread I was reading. The suggestion on that thread was to google the name with "felony" behind it.
I had never heard of Hendrick before,so I was curious and googled it.
It makes for some interesting reading. If the people you are dealing with means anything to you,it might be worth your time to read it.
I bought a 08 from Matt Ball in Durham over the Internet . Fantastic transaction and a great car at a great price. He was very helpful and I would certainly buy from him again .
They seem to have a monopoly here in Charlotte.. they own many dealerships and their BS doc fees are typically higher than others..
I tried buying locally from them.. but ended up going out of state due to the typical arrogance and higher cost. In the end, they aren't too much different from any other dealer.. Depends on the day and who you are dealing with..
$9k off sticker? Funny, their local ad say $14k off...go figure!
Where did you find a local ad? Neither their website nor their Autotrader listings list any discount at all for new vettes.
That was a large part of my frustration with them over the last few weeks. I visited the dealership, took a test drive, and indicated my specific interest in a new GS. The salesman was unable to even hint at a price during my visit. I followed up with an email clearly indicating the configuration I was interested in and asking for a price. I also phoned and left messages for the salesman. After a few days with no response, I gave up and went to Hendrick Durham. I even emailed the sales manager to let him know why I didn't buy a car in Cary, but received no response from him either.
The experience at Hendrick Durham was completely different. Their online listings include complete sticker info (which Cary's don't) and they are clear about discounts. They happened to have the car I wanted and I got a better price than their ad to boot. Matt Ball was a joy to work with and I left with a new car two hours after arriving at the dealership.
Just bought an 11 GS from Cary on Sat after driving down 200 miles. Went to initially buy from a close sister dealership who wanted to reduce my trade in number by 2K+ because it was lowered [4 springs for $400].
Cary had same exact pics and stuck to there trade in price [2k more than sister dealer].
Got almost 9.xK off a 1lt 6sp. They jumped through hoops on non wanted add ons, Finance mgr was great to deal with no hassle or pushing.
Dealt with Vassilis in their internet group who was great. Management at Cary all were involved and went overboard to make this happen. I buy cars every 2 years and this was about the best experience in a very long time, especially given the sister dealership's behavior and last minute call to Cary.
