I have had an electric meziere water pump for several months trouble free. Then i blew a fuse for the water pump. Odd. After replacing no problems till this weekend. When i run the car hard and am shifting hard to second third. Fourth. Etc.
The warning light comes on and says check coolant level. But i checked the coolant level in the resivor is correct
To make maters worse the cooling fan wont come on and the car gets really really to hot. And i blew another water pump fuse when im shiftng hard between gears.
Just some information about the coolant level warning, per talon90.
The Corvette C6 doesn't have a coolant level sensor. Coolant level is a calculation done by comparing coolant temperature to RPM to determine if the proper level of coolant is present based on what the car is doing. In the event of a level issue being reported when the correct level of coolant can be observed in the reservoir, the dealer is able to recalibrate the table in the HVAC module (which is where the calculations are done for the coolant level algorithm.)
Sounds like there is a electrical short circuit or bad connection. Short circuits/connections are the devil to find. Took my dealer a month to identify and fix the one, reportedly in a wiring harness, that triggered the DIC message "Check Engine Coolant ." (The coolant level was just fine.) A short or bad connection would explain the blown fuse, erroneous message, and fan failing to work.
