Default cowl buzz

Understand the buzz from the cowl piece has two fixes: 1.silicone caulking 2.replace. If replace, what is different -new design? different material? cost of replacement? Thanks

The one on my 08 was replaced under warranty. I would imagine it wouldn't involve much labor so just check someone like Partstaxi for the price of the part if you are out of warranty. I couldn't tell a big difference between the two parts from the outside.

My 08 split also. The dealer fixed it under warranty. They had to do the repair in the body shop.

Had the cowl replaced under warranty on my 08. It took about an hour and the new cowl looked the same.

I just replaced my 2008's at my own cost. I think they just go bad over time.
How much to replace? What's to go bad? If replace, expect same?

Not sure of price

Poor design, two different grades of material bonded together and I believe the softer material isn't high enough up on the windshield where it makes the bend on the corner.

Yup
