Hey guys, Does anyone know how to remove the mufflers on 2005 convertible Automatic NOT manual. i have them off H pipe and sway bar removed. They will not lift out no room between trans and mounting flanges for fuel tank cover.. I want to replace damaged right side with a oem used takeoff. Thanks
I ran into this issue a few weeks ago. I ended up having to take off the h-pipe. After that, a little twisting and turning and it should come right off.
I put a cat back on a friends (auto) car a few weeks ago.
Get the whole car on jack stands
Drop the H- mid pipe
Loosen and fold down the rear sway bar
Make sure you get the rear well off the ground so you can unsnake the pipes out from over the axles. The mufflers will have to go toward the ground on the final removal step.

I bought a Corsa Sport exhaust two years ago and their instructions said that I would have to cut the passenger side pipe to get the passenger side muffler out. The Corsa muffler is two piece muffler and pipe so reinstalling the Corsa muffler was easy.

I think the key here is to get the rear of the car high enough. Get it up at least 2 feet to work the muffler out. You can cut the old one out, but you still need to get the new one in.
