I tried a search, no luck... anyone ever add the rear hatch pull down from a coupe to a convertible? One annoyance I've found on the convertible is that the trunk lid closes kind of hard and I'm worried about scuffing the paint pushing to close it if its dirty. (already had to touch it once with the buffer to get a small mark out).
I haven't gone digging to see if the wiring is already there or not? Any experience or links are appreciated. thanks- Dan
Would not surprise me if the pull down assembly in a coupe is the same as the pull down assembly for the convertible top lid. The question would be if the assembly is a bolt up to the trunk latch assembly. Take the waterfall off and take a look. The wiring is probably simple, motor leads and micro switches. Let us know what you find out.
Like Rick T says, my car is an early C6 Z06, and they only had the manual latch like a convertible. I think around 2009 the Z06 got the auto pull down latch like all other coupes.
I did the conversion 3 years ago, but as I recall, the convertible electronics are exactly the same as the Z06 with the manual latch, so the electrical hookup for an auto pull down latch in a vert would be done just as I did in my Z06 in that thread.
I haven't heard of anybody that added an auto pull down latch to a vert.
There were a number of owners that expressed interest in doing the mod to their Z06, but I don't know if anybody else ever carried through with it.
