I won't use Fram personally. I can't back up the claim.... BUT when I was about 17 I worked in my uncle's repair shop 1 summer and he always ranted on and on how Fram sucks.. So I never used them...
I know for sure in the traditional Pontiac engine world Fram and K&N oil filters are way too restrictive. They clean the oil great, but do so at flow sacrifice. Most major Pontiac shops recommend either Wix, A/c or Napa-which is made by Wix. Unless I find out something different I'm only using a/c filters on my GS, especially during warranty period.
I do what we did with my racd car, jack up the car on one side and put a jackstand front and rear, jack up the other side and do same. You then have your car 18-24" off the ground and you can roll around everywhere under it. Just takes 5 minutes to do this and it's very safe.
I hope this helps some of y'all.......it's how ALL racers do it, in fact if you dont drive your car during the winter months, I would store it this way....on jack stands, this way it keeps the springs uncompressed thus preserving their life and the same for you shocks. Unsprung weight is good, just keep er plugged into the battery tender and I'd even start it up a couple times a week to get oil up in the valvetrain....it's just good for it. These motors aren't meant to sit idle unstarted several months, they're meant to be run.
This is all just my opinion, but I've been around late model stock cars all my life, so I have some experience with this stuff. Good luck y'all!!
I use the OLM on all 3 of my GM vehicles and have been using it on all the ones I have owned since 1997. Works great and reduces cost. I average between 4K to 5K miles per year and that means one oil change per year. Even owning a lift for almost 12 years I have only changed the oil once or twice on any of my cars. The lift gets used for multiple brake jobs, brake fluid flushes, wheel changes per season. I usually get an at the dealer or another shop. It is just easier and the extra $25 to $30 extra cost once per year isn't a big deal. Plus, the dealer has it in their records which can make warranty claims easier.
