Default Memory Seat Issue

Hey folks, hoping someone can give me some help.

My memory / auto return seat functions have worked fine for years but lately they do not return automatically when I get in the car for the first time in the day. I have to use the button to bring my seat forward. Once I have done that for the first time, it will work for the rest of my day. It's weird. I've tried going through the entire process of setting it all up again but the same thing happens.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've got an A6, but someone said that with a MN6 you need to have the parking brake engaged for the memory system to work. Any issues on yours?

You are using the other FOB.

That exact thing happened to me this weekend. The wife and I went on a two day trip so I had her put the extra fob in her purse just in case. If she opened the door first it reset everything. She does not drive the car and I have never used the #2 fob. It took me awhile to figure it out.

If the fob isn't the problem, disconnect your battery to reboot the car. Then reset your memory settings and re-index the windows.

I had and continue to have this issue.
I had the seat replaced under warranty.
The memory seat function is deteriorating and will eventually completely fail.
You can reinitialize your settings but the failure rate frequency will increase over time.
Now the hard part convince your dealership to replace your seat before complete failure is gonna take some due dilligence on your part.

Good luck.

Okay, a few things to try. Thanks.

I don't like the thought of the total failure though! I guess I'd better get working on it soon as the warranty runs out in May. So did the seat replacement fix the problem? I can't imagine the entire seat would need to be replaced on not just the module

I recently had my 08 in for a seat memory problem and they having pulled several codes replaced the seat base with all of the motors and sensors. At this point all seems to be working. My problem was increasing in frequency but started out to be a rare occurrence and became a daily annoyance.

Good luck. Take it in.

Okay, I think I will. I do think that is is getting progressively worse actually.
