Is Shell a good brand of gas for the C6 or should I be going somewhere else like Mobil for example? Reason I am asking is that sometimes when I start my C6, the car hesitates to start before it fires up. It's not the battery and I got the fuel pressure and everything checked last week at Chevy.
I try a different station. I used to go to one particular station and 1 of my 3 cars exhibited that on cold starts. Years later when moved, and used a different station of the same brand (both shell) it stopped.
What do you mean "hesitates to start before it fires up"? Do you mean it cranks but doesn't fire right away or it actually hesitates to crank?
I've Shell in all my vehicles for years (C5, C6, Dodge truck, Chevy S-10, just to name a few) and never had any sort of issue with Shell.
It's a top tier gas after all
It will like jitter for a while before it fires away. So instead pushing the button and hearing the ignition and then it firing up, you push the button and it ignites but jitters a little and then fires away. Happens after I drive around a while and then turn it off. If it sits for a while then next time I start it, it will do that.

Didn't say how many miles you have but it could be anything from dirty injectors to a bad fuel pump to a computer problem to something as simple as a partially plugged fuel filter.
(might even be a leak in the pressure side of the pump too)
I got worse mileage on Shell, I think the nitrogen has something to do with it, how can you get better mileage when gasoline is replaced with nitrogen? Looks like a higher yield for Shell and more dollars in their pocket.

4500 miles on my 09 coupe. I rarely drive it. Had to get the fuel pump replaced last year for the same issue. Car is still under warranty and I'll probably be bringing it back in again. What can cause the fuel pump to go bad or the other potential issues you mention?
My does the same:I use shell once in awhile, but most of the time i use Exxon. It was doing that last week and i had shell in it,this week i have Exxon and have not had that problem.

With respect, Shell knows that not many people understand chemistry.
They're not replacing gasoline with nitrogen. Nitrogen does not exist solely as a gas.
It will chemically bond to a a lot of other elements, for instance as in TriNitroToluene (Better known by its initials )
Shell is just hyper-marketing because their current detergent additive has a nitrate in in.

I agree. Sounds like the OP has a problem other than gasoline. I use Shell in my Corvette all the time, with no problems at all.
pour a 20 oz. bottle of Techron in the tank, fill it up with 93 octane (Shell should be fine),
and go for a 100 mi interstate highway drive (a couple of hours).
If you only have 4500 miles on an '09 you're likely just experiencing old gas. Even the companies that sell high-end weed eaters will tell you that gas after 30 days should be dumped, and fresh bought.
I try to stay with top tier brands such as Shell to get better additives. I also try to avoid old gas stations. I'm thinking that there less chance of water in newer under-ground gas storage tanks.
