CO Lightfoot & FortMorganAl- When I wrote the thread, I was just thinking about the problem and seeking for member's advices/answers from such a great forum like our so I never thought of whether I MUST wrote "base" or "coupe" instead of "Z51". It's funny that some members would go off on a tangent like that but anyway, I appreciate everyone's inputs. Thank you all.
Chevy Cust Svc- I'm glad that you'd mentioned about the engine cap. Come to think of it, I did forget to re-install the engine cap right after an oil change. I was driving for a few hours w/o the cap until I realized it. The engine light didn't come on until a day or two later though. Could that be the root cause of the problem? My car is running fine now. Please advice.

Engine cap? Engine cap? There are several caps in the engine compartment from the oil filler cap to brake fluid reservoir cap to washer fluid cap but none of them missing will set a CEL. Running without an oil filler cap is a VERY bad idea because the PCV system will suck a lot of air and dirt into the engine but it won't set any codes or turn on the light. The GAS CAP loose WILL set a code and is very commonly a problem. But the GAS CAP is not in the engine compartment. It is behind the door just to the rear of the driver's door.
CaptainMorgan & 89L98- I meant the oil filler cap in the engine compartment ok. It's Chevy Cust Svc's fault. He wrote engine cap first. Where is the GAS CAP at again? Hehe... I had a good laugh from reading your replies.

Just giving the plebe a little hazing. You get paid to read and reply to this stuff. You're going to have to get used to being called on every mistake. And, like all the rest of us, you're going to make them.
