Ok, trying to sort out what the best Sirus yearly rate is now, I realize they raised rates or changed plans or whatever several months ago, but on one car I have $85.32 for a year and on the other I have a quarterly billing of $43.05 per quarter and I want to go to yearly rate, which they are dogmatically claiming $142.00 is their best rate now, for which I will cancel.
Anybody have any tips on best rate going forward and how to get it?
I went through the same thing this week. At the end of my yearly billing they switched me to quarterly billing. I called and after dealing with the first person I said transfer me to cancellation. She switched my billing to yearly at $85.35/year. The trick is to call before your subscription lapse.
What pissed me off was having to deal with the first person for 20 minutes. The retention department call lasted less than 5 minutes. I simply say I will not pay $145 for something I paid $77 last year and would like the same rate.
I renewed mine a few months ago for $32 every 6 months. I don't think this is too expensive. I enjoy have different types of programs when I drive long distance. Just my .02.
Hey thanks for all the good feedback folks, will do the cancellation route and see what happens
Sirus really ought to adopt a functional renewal system and quit with the offshore call sites and English as second language difficulties the unfortunate operators are scripted to respond with
I have questions on Lifetime. Is it on one particular car or whenever you trade we just notify them. Also, does this cover just one vehicle or more or maybe we can get the full boat for everything when Lifetime is ordered. I really would like to have the system in the home. Cost is the concern here and then what all you get for it. Thanks in advance for your comments. Sometimes the more you pay the more you get. But, we have to remember we are talking about XM and Sirius here so anything is probably possible... Paul...
Mine was up for renewal, and the rate I was qupoted was somewhere around $160.00.
I told them that I put my car away for the winter, so I asked if I could suspend my service for those months. The Service rep said no, but whatshe could do instead was offer me the year service for 5 month rate of $89.00. I took that deal.
On Star allows one to suspend service for the time the car is away in hibernation. One years rate lasts aprox 2 years.
