Default Trunk latch pulldown

Hi
2011 GS

I'm trying to determine if my trunk pulldown is working. This isn't installed on my 2000 FRC.

I lower the trunk until it is resting on the latch and nothing happens. When I push the trunk until it is almost latched manually, the pulldown 'seems' to work, but I could be pushing until it latched manually. I hear what sounds like a little buzz.

Suggestions?

Thx

GP - yeah, you need to "give it a little nudge"...then it will work...
Cadillac's are much easier to the touch - Vette's need some good ole muscle...

With a little practice, you can pull it down hard enough for the latch to catch.

Almost slam it down.

That's the way mine works. It's barely noticeable.

Thanks for the info, guys...

After 10 years with a C5, I amazed at how many features I need to understand on the GS.

I just drop mine from about a foot up and then it latches by itself most times and if it needs help the motor pulls it the rest of the way closed.

Also helps if a door or window is open, even just cracked. The hatch will drop and latch much easier that way...air pressure inside the car keeps the hatch from closing without a nudge.

Thank you for your replies. It seems that my trunk works exactly as advertised.

Almost slam it down.

I would be careful doing this...I have seen at least one post/pic here on th CF by someone who did it, and the rear fiberglass/SMC above the fascia cracked quite severely.

I just rest the hatch on the latch mechanism and gently push it down until the latch engages...it then closes by itself.
