Automatic Shifter
Hi, I'm looking for an automatic shift **** and boot, just wanna change the stock one any recommendations.... I'm looking hard and can't find one................

Good Luck- I looked for months and didn't find anything.
They do make a aftermarket **** adapter and then almost any **** will fit. But it only fits the A4 which is 05 only.06 and newer use the A6. You can switch out the shifter lever from a 05 shifter into the 06 and newer shifter but very expensive. I found one someone had already converted and picked it up cheap. The only problem is the **** is taller and I didn't want it to look like something Big Daddy Roth had in one of his cars.
I ended up having DSV wrap my **** in leather, new leather boot and had the cap redone in carbon fiber.
I can tell you except for having yours redone there isn't anything out there

I've been looking for some time as well... Finally found one that fits and functions. The problem with the Above mentioned adapter is it raises the **** up so much that it makes it look odd. Here's a pic of mine. Sorry about the pic quality, it was too dark to get a descent one... I'll try to get a better one tomorrow. The chrome **** looks good with the chrome rings on the console.

I purchased some "stretch" black carbon fiber tape. Took the top of the shifter on my A6 off and put the tape on. Also, I put it on the exit button trim and on the silver covers on the spokes on the steering wheel. It matches the carbon fiber trim on my center console trim & bezel around the radio that came with my 3 Lt trim on my 08 vert.

Here's a little bit better pic (still not the greatest) of the one I installed on my '05. This **** does not require an adapter, it's a direct replacement... you have to re-use the factory spring clip that holds the OE **** in place.
It was available in 4 colors including chrome, satin (brushed look), hydro-carbon, or wood.

WOW....ugly seems a little harsh when compared to a shifter **** that fits poorly, and is barely functional or too tall.....frankinstien comes to mind....it is halloween after all...LOL lol:

But both ads are wrong, it will not work on 2006 or newer.I have notified both links of the fitting issues.CAU who is the manufacturer seemed to be more worried that they were going to have to reimburse me than they were about it not fitting 2006 and newer.
