Tech Note: LED lights may flash faster than original lights due to LED bulbs drawing less energy than original bulbs which causes the flasher to appear quicker. 658-138 is a fully electronic, no load flasher unit which has been made for LED technology and will drive a limitless amount of LED indicator bulbs safely and slow down the quick flashing. Order the Voltage Regulator below to avoid this simple problem.

you did not have this issue?

No, I didn't. They were installing them there for $20. I knew I could do it myself, but I asked the installer whether I needed the resistor. He said some people buy them and never use them; he didn't think I would have a problem, so I skipped buying the resistor/voltage regulator pkge. Maybe some have a problem; I didn't. Just take out the old taillight, unplug, remove the bulb and the new LED taillights connection plugs into where the old bulb was. Very easy.

These look identical to the Eagle Eyes Leds that many of us have. They have external resistors included which are attached to the wall behind the bumper and come pre wired to each light.

Could you just replace the 4 3057LL bulbs with compatible LED bulbs? I did this with the backup bulbs, but not sure how the taillights would look.

You're right; I forgot about the little black boxes that stuck inside the rear fascia.
