My free 3 months ran out, they offered 6 months for $38.02 (taxes and fees included) or 3 months for $12.95 + taxes and fees ($16.44). I took the three months and had them send me a bill, I mentioned a year and they wanted $98 plus taxes and fees, asked about $77 and she played dumb...
For those paying $77 for the year is that with taxes / fees or before?

Tell them you will only pay $77 per yr and reference the "win77" xm program they used to have. They will do it.
Six months for $38.02 is a good deal. Most people have to jump through hoops and threaten to cancel to get a deal like that. I think you made a mistake by not taking it.
I like the programming but am not going to renew... The reception just sucks in the vettes, itis bad enough in my Tahoe but the vette (either) cuts out all the time, it hates trees and hills I think.
I have their $20 per radio for 5 months deal which runs out on Tuesday. I had 4 radios on it. I called them yesterday to say I didn't want to renew. They offered me the $38 deal on all of them but I told them I wanted to drop two radios. I ended up with the $77 deal plus fees for two radios which added up to $169 for 1 year on each radio.
Stays in the garage in the winter so I don't have it. Have a 3 year subscription on my other car. I really enjoy the service and I think it is a great deal.....IMO
I renewed my wife's Volvo Sirius for the 77 dollar deal last week without a problem. When I asked about my vette they told me when it runs out in about two months just ask for the same deal and they will give it to me. I asked to combine both vehicles on the same account for the multi car discount but they told me the Volvo is Sirius and the Vette is XM? When I asked why not (since they are both one company now) they said that they are jointly owned but still operate independently.

lets me try and get this math right. 3 months is 16.44, 6 months 38.01, and a year is 77. so 3 months times 2 is 32.88 < 38.01 for 6 months and 3 months times 4 is 65.76 < about 77 year. There is just a problem with me on the longer subscription. Most companies charge less for the longer duration.
up here in Canada they tried to get me to renew at 384.00 for two years......i have had the truck connected for six years....loyalty didnt seem a factor so I cancelled that subscription also.
As a different twist, dealer never initiated the service at delivery. Being caught up in the whole new car experience, I focused on learning all the important things on the car. Tried the XM radio but obviously could not get it to work.
Finally called yesterday. Advised trial goes from purchase date so with less than 30 days left I said never mind. The intelligent thing from a marketing perspective was to offer say two months since they have no more sunk costs. Their response "well that's the way it is". I said thanks and hung up. Really dumb.

I just got my 07 convertible a month ago. I called and they said we will give you three months free. I signed up fpr a year and they said we won't bill you until Jan 7, 2012. I get a bill in the mail with a Oct 30 due date. I called the number on the statement about billing and can't get anybody on the phone.
