What's the best way to remedy. Rust at weld locations not the whole pipe. Seems its at the headers to the the eng and at the cat? What kind of troublwn the road.
Sorry no picture bc car is getting body work. But I bought the car used it has long headers that look grey and unpolished
Even with stainless, the properties of the metal are changed when the wire is welded and so rust can form there. Nothing you can do and will likely never be a problem anyway...it is only surface rust. Enjoy the headers.

You can use NAPA Aluminum Brite or go to Eastwood and pick up a quart of After Weld Spray which ever is easier for you.
They contain Phosphoric acid and will clean up the welding byproducts, even surface discoloration, often times just melts away without agitation.
You can also use that to remove oxidation from aluminum suspension components and the stainless muffler and needless to say the welds around the exhaust tips. Good stuff! But it is an acid, so proper donning of PPP before hand is important.
