So I'm on my way to wash the car and I see the light change so I get in the right hand lane...I'm doing 52 in a 50 and I pull past an officer that was at the light, who was basically stopped and had cars behind him so no way he could have seen me coming.
So I pull by and then move over to the left lane where I need to be. Low and behold he pulls me over and the very first thing he does is mumbles something to me and goes to check for a front plate.
He says he did not see a front plate as he was focused on the middle of my bumper ....I laugh as my plate is and offset plate on the drivers side.
He says I did not signal my lane change and I very, very quickly say, yes I did. I let him know I have the the option that I click it and it blinks 3 times and shuts off, maybe he did not see it.
Of course because he could not get me for no front plate, which he could have never seen anyway he ask for license and insurance card. I have both so he can't get me for that either.
We have a light hearted chat and I tell him one of my pet peves is people who don't use blinkers, so believe me, I used mine. He checks them and of course they work....he just missed it and had nothing better to do that try to get me for no front plate.
Good news, no ticket and I spent the day cruising with friends down to Canon Falls!
Just my opinion, but in the current economic turndown, the majority of these local city and county governments are broke, and are now trying desperately to find ways to get more money.
Traffic tickets are just one way they have found to generate much needed revenue.
Not good at all for the average motorist, but a nessesity for the local government.
