Funny. Someone at work told me I was having a mid-life crisis when I pulled up in my new Corvette Grand Sport (I'm 53). I told her that I went through all of that years ago, as this is my my 4th high performance sports car. For me, it's an old-age crisis...drive something you love before you die, lol.

Go Canes!
We've all heard the mid-life crisis deal. Since I will be 46 in a couple of weeks, 92 is an okay age to kick the bucket I guess!!

Wait till you can afford a mid-engine exotic
People will keep checking if you still own it....pure jealousy.
Got this once a month during the financial crisis
My Response: You still with your wife?

I'm 57 and just got my first Vette.
One of the Japanese executives at HQ kept calling it "Mid Year Crisis".
I told him that was our budget meeting, not the reason for the car.

I'm 71 years young and on my seventh corvette,a 12 zo6 would take my 98 year old dad for a ride if I could get him off his 100hp snowmobile, drive it like you stole it.Remember any day above ground is good!

I have heard the mid life crisis statement myself. I just tell them that a new Corvette is something I have wanted since I was 6 (when I saw my first 1968 model) and tell them that I hope someday their dreams will come true as well. The half hearted kindness statement usually shuts them down.
I turned 50 this year and finally could afford a new one. If I drive this thing until I reach the century mark that would be the coolest.

It wasn't a crises for me, it was a celebration! I was 58, when, I bought my new 07' LMB coupe. I worked hard for 34 yrs. to get my Vette. I sold my last one, a 66' Vert, in 1973. I was never able, financially, to get one till then. All of lifes roadbumps and day to day living prevented it from happening. I'm not a rich man, money wise, but, I'm rich in many other ways, one of them is owning my Vette. So, I consider it a "celebration" in my life. My darling wife was a true supporter in this endeavor. Actually, she was the instigator.

I'm 53. I've never really thought about any age and the idiotic things people tend to associate with certain age groups. I would buy 2 new cars for me and my wife every 10-12 month. All of the sudden I realized it was a sin. I took my entire wardrobe and gave it to the guy that cleans my parking lot. I bought 20 pairs of identical black cotton socks and I threw the dozens of my old colored socks away. I have 3 pairs of jeans and a bunch of t-shirts. I'm not careless, I'm not a slob, I do care more in fact that I've ever cared. I get emotional waving goodby to some of my good buddies with cancer. I bought my Corvette to remind me of my Mojo that I still have but truly I don't need it as much as I thought I did. I love to look at a hot girls a$$ but I hold my wife's hand trying to find comfort and piece of mind. I still get wild about some issue yet I have become a prostitute and not that many things offend me anymore. Religion, vulgarity, drugs and tragedies are parts of life. Love, respect and good wine are much better substitute in the world of life mercenaries. You get your black belt in living at 50. When I come home at night I give my Corvette to the valet and walk away as he takes it to the garage. Before he disappears I take a quick glimpse of the huge tires and hear the lullaby of the exhaust. Nite, nite, tomorrow is another day !

Now there is sound advice! Sorry to hear about what you had/have/are going through but nice of you to put a perspective to life and enjoying it. Best of luck.
