for those that have used the stock bolts. how many turns did you do when lowering your car and how far did it lower your car?
Understand what you're trying to do here, but the heights of Corvettes from the factory really can vary quite a bite so the original height of one car versus another isn't much of a benchmark to start from in adjusting your car's height.
Couple of tips though:
1 - Two full turns can change the height by as much as a 1/2", so make those adjustments in small increments.
2 - A lot of us have turned the rear bolts (counterclockwise) as far as they will go and find that the rear is still not low enough for some - that is why you see aftermarket lowering bolts for sale on the forum. The pads on these aftermarket bolts are not as thick as the OEM bolts allowing more adjustment room.
thank you i did turn them two full turns... its in the shop right now getting the oil pan gasket replaced.. i asked them while they are there to do that for me.. its getting aligned today... what a mess it is to just change the pan gasket. the book calls for the engine to be removed but LG motorsports helped out and only the carriage had to be lowered which has saved time...
Just turn them all the way up and it still won't be low enough.
Like I said - seriously though it gets pretty close. Also, the aftermarket lowering bolts have proven to be a little spotty on performance - some wear out quickly, others squeak....
Well, to answer the op's question if I remember correctly my fronts turned 4 or 5 times and lowered the car about 3/4". The rears only turned about a turn and a half and did basically nothing so I used Hardbar bolts in the rear.
Now that you car is lower you will not be able to go over a piece of paper without hitting it. I like the way vettes look lowered but damn they can not hit a bump without tearing something off.

My car has been lowered all the way on stock bolts for 4 yrs. I have not tore anything off. It does scrape the diffuser more and I must be more carefull when going over raised areas but no big deal.
Is there a trick to turn the factory bolts, mine seem very had to turn, have not been able to yet, how can I take the weight off of them so I can adjust them easier, help appreciated please.
