Default OnStar-less windshield

Is there one available without the paint blob where on start turd mounts? I would imagine w/s for 2005 would have no blob... If I ever have to change the w/s, I wanna yank the OS crap out and bring in more light to the interior.

I'd try to look at one without the OnStar. I think the paint blob is still going to be there.

The paint blob makes a nice hiding place for a Valentine 1. Take the V1 suction cup mount and remove the cups, install it backwards with a couple of small self tapping screws and rubber grommets into the plastic trim above the windshield. After removing the Onstar box, of course.

Not concealed completely, but much better than other locations.

Since I do not have On Star... I can only tell you on mine, there is a painted out part, centered over the rear view mirror, with dots on both sides... Not sure if On Star has something different...

OnStar has a distinct solid rectangular blob where the antenna goes, thus, your windshield is different and this is a good thing. Thanks for checking it out, I will certainly keep this in mind when ordering a replacement. Hopefully yours does not cost more since it is one year specific windshield.

Onstar was also an option when we bought our 2006; but by 2009 it was standard (at least, standard on the 3LT package).

3005 is a safe bet since this is the only yeark with external antenna and I have never seen a vette without onstar yet... I would be curious to know how many vettes are there without onstar... I bet not too many at all

No external antenna for OnStar. You're thinking about the external wart of an antenna for XM radio on the 2005 C6s.

Only 19,634 of the 37,372 2005 C6s had OnStar.

12,869 of the 34,021 2006 C6s had OnStar.

18,074 of the 40,561 2007 C6s had OnStar.

Ah ok, I guess I was confused here. All I have to do is specify no onstar and the windshield should be the one i want. I will be very happy when I finally get to yank out this box off my windshield, at least on one of the vettes.

Is it really that bad? It was a while before I even noticed it in mine.

ON Star was standard with the 08 model year.

I removed that black box on '05 windshield. Yes there's a mark where it was. I got most of it off. However IMO it looks a hell-of-a lot better than with the black box.

My 2005 did not come with On*Star. Both my original windshield and the replacement I bought after the car wash cracked my original one have no paint blob.
